My name is David Buuck and, thanks to you, I am your duly elected Knox County Law Director. After much personal reflection, as well as seeking advice from family, friends, and co-workers, I have decided to seek re-election as your Knox County Law Director.
I served as Chief Deputy Law Director for 8 ½ years and, for the past 3 ½ years, I have served as your elected Knox County Law Director. Over these years, it has been my privilege and honor to work with my highly experienced legal staff. We have always put the citizens of Knox County first and foremost in every decision we have made.
In order to have an efficient and effective local government, I believe it is crucial to have candidates who are qualified, experienced, and ready to serve the people of Knox County on day one.
Prior to my 12 years of service with Knox County, I was in private practice for 33 years. I began my private practice with a law firm that included Congressman Jimmy Duncan and Zane Daniel. Over the years, I specialized in governmental law, individual property rights, business law, and election law. I also represented “Citizens for Home Rule” for 25 years fighting forced annexation by the City of Knoxville of over 300 households.
My opponent, on the other hand, has only practiced law since 2020, and has absolutely no local government legal experience.
On a personal note, my wife Debby and I have lived in Knox County for over 50 years and have been truly blessed with a precious family.
With your vote, I stand ready and committed to continue to serve the citizens and taxpayers of Knox County as your Knox County Law Director.
I ask, most humbly, for your support and your vote in the March 5, 2024 Republican primary election. Early voting begins February 14th and runs through February 27th.

The early voting period begins on February 14th, and will run through to February 27th, while the election day itself is slated for March 5th.
It is important to note that your vote counts greatly and, as such, your participation in the primary cannot be overemphasized. You have the opportunity to choose the candidate who shares your values, and whose beliefs align with yours. So make sure you take advantage of this golden chance to contribute to the democratic process and take an active role in shaping the course of our future.
